A stressful water-damage situation that turned into a really positive experience It all started July 27th when we discovered a water leak in our basement. We contacted our insurance company the next day, and they recommended Washington Water Damage & Cleaning Services. They arrived within about two hours and immediately began assessing the damage and setting up equipment to dry everything out. Unfortunately, some moisture in the walls and baseboards was missed. Two days later, the equipment was removed, and we thought the water-damage portion was finished. It wasn't until another company came in to prepare for our new flooring that we discovered there was still moisture. I contacted owner Scott and explained what happened. He asked us to give them another opportunity to make things right. I was hesitant, but we decided to give them another chance—and we are so glad we did. We had a HUGE party scheduled at our house for August 29th, so we had a firm deadline. Once we realized the extent of the additional damage, we were worried. Scott and the other owner assured us they would make our project a priority and do everything possible to get us done in time. They absolutely did. One thing that made the process much easier was their communication with our insurance company. They coordinated with insurance so seamlessly that we didn't have to worry about paperwork, estimates, coverage, or who was communicating what. During an already stressful situation, that was a huge relief. This company truly is the full meal deal. They have their own mitigation, pack-out, and reconstruction crews, so everything could be coordinated under one company. The reconstruction Reconstruction began August 17th. In just four days, their crew repaired drywall, sanded, primed, painted, and installed more than 900 square feet of laminate flooring. The coordination and workflow were impressive. James was fantastic to work with. He met us at the flooring store, to help us choose flooring, guided us toward paint colors, and was incredibly responsive whenever I had a question or concern. James never over-promised a completion date, but when I asked if there was any possibility of finishing by August 20th so we could move back in August 21st, he asked his crew to work overtime to make it happen. And they did. Getting our home back Our belongings were originally scheduled to be moved back after our party due to their full schedule. James worked his magic again and pulled some strings to get the move-in crew scheduled for August 21st. Because of that, we were able to put our house back together and actually hold our August 29th party at home—something we weren't sure would happen just weeks earlier. One area that needs improvement I do want to be honest about the pack-out crew. Several items were damaged, including a Scentsy warmer that is now only available on eBay, an essentially irreplaceable tray table holder, my solid oak desk, and our IKEA TV stand. To the company's credit, they agreed to pay for the repairs or replacements. Replacing the IKEA stand took more than 12 hours and three trips to IKEA, which was frustrating, especially with our deadline. The bottom line Was the process perfect? No. But what impressed us most was how they responded when things didn't go perfectly. After the initial mistake, they gave us an opportunity to let them make things right—and they did. They made our project a priority, coordinated multiple crews, worked quickly and overtime, handled the insurance communication, and got us done in time for our event. Our experience with Scott, James, and the reconstruction team was excellent, and we are genuinely grateful for the effort they put into getting our home back together. Louis did an excellent job being here on time and immediately— even though he was hired by our landlord/owner of our apartments. We had level 3 water damages and owner was out of the country at the time this happened. His wife called Restoration Medix and Louis, the owner himself came and set up everything needed in order to dry out the lower bathroom, hallways, etc.— very personable, explains things so you can understand what has to be completed and accomplished for a healthy place to live. He didn’t get to finish all the work sadly, he was great and I wish the owner would have hired him for everything we needed instead of trying to get by cheaper. I would definitely recommend them- even the owner said he charged less than the previous place he used. Louis is also trustworthy- he had a key box set up so he could come and go to work and nothing is missing. So far so good!~ Definitely recommend! 5 Star Review!!~

If you’re dreaming of an indoor waterfall straight from your attic — this is your company! Here’s how it all happened: I hired this company to do some work in my attic. During the process, their team managed to break a water pipe. The result? My entire attic got flooded. Then water poured down the walls, soaking my floors, walls, and even reached other condos downstairs. Perfect, right? They assured me everything would be fixed quickly: “Don’t worry, we’re professionals, everything will be fine.” This happened on a Friday. They opened the walls and installed their noisy drying equipment — my house turned into an airport, with the lovely bonus of a damp, musty smell everywhere. I had to leave and stay at a hotel for a few days. I warned the managers ahead of time, asked if they would reimburse the hotel costs. They said: “Yes, of course, our company will cover everything, sorry for the inconvenience.” In reality: I paid for three nights at a hotel out of pocket. When I returned, my house still smelled like a swamp, the walls were not fully dried, and the whole process dragged on. Once everything was finally dried out and they did their so-called “restoration” (I wouldn’t call it proper repairs), I reminded them about reimbursing my hotel expenses. That’s when the fun really started: Managers keep passing me around from one to another, promising that their boss will contact me. But guess what? No one calls. Today is July 1st, and I’m still chasing them for my money. Bottom line: unprofessional, avoiding responsibility, making empty promises. If you want this kind of “service” — good luck. As for me, they’ve earned this solid one-star rating.
