Update after the response from business below: Keeping my rating firmly at one star for the billing mess. Right after I got an updated amount I owe and the remainder to be paid by insurance, the business update still claims they are right. !! Downgraded to one star for a pathetic billing experience. The work from Servicemaster to restore a small leak damage was honestly on the extremes. While their work on tiles and wall were good and timely, their billing, scheduling and coordination is pathetic. There was not a single peaceful week till they finished the work. The people were courteous when they are accessible. There was an incident when their plumber did not check water connection to the appliances and it leaked the same day flooding the floor. Although they were extremely professional to fix it, their program manager tried to charge us more for the clean up until the restoration team intervened. Billing sent the wrong amount and I had to push back multiple times to get the right one. The invoice is still not fixed. I went with them as it was my insurance network. The job was very small but just having to deal with multiple folks at different times of the process was tiresome.

When our hot water heater failed and flooded our den, it felt like everything unraveled at once. Within days, we were also dealing with mold, insurance calls, and that constant stress of not knowing what happens next. ServiceMaster stepped in during the most overwhelming part of the situation and AJ, our project lead, made all the difference. What stood out immediately was his communication. He didn’t just “check in.” He kept the insurance company moving, coordinated with outside vendors seamlessly, and made sure we understood every step of the process. I never felt like I was chasing updates or left wondering what was happening. He explained things clearly, answered every question patiently, and made a complicated process feel manageable. AJ is also just genuinely positive and easy to talk to — which matters more than people realize when your home is torn apart. His calm, steady approach brought a lot of reassurance during a stressful time. You hope you never need a mitigation company, but if you do, having someone like AJ leading the project makes all the difference. We’re incredibly grateful for his professionalism, responsiveness, and the care he showed throughout the process.
