The past two weeks I’ve been having an issue with the drain for my washing machine backing up, I called Catons, the first guy that came out didn’t even observe the water backing up, nor did he fully test to ensure it was clear after saying he snaked the drain. The second guy also didn’t run a full cycle, and only ran it on small load, so there wasn’t as much water going down the drain. I had paid $954.58 at that point, only to find that the drain still backed up when running a large load. I was pretty dubious when the third plumber, Dave, arrived yesterday, but he worked for seven hours trying his damnedest to snake that drain, but after cutting a hole in the wall found the pipe configuration is such that a snake can’t get through; it’s now an issue I have to sort out with my condo’s HOA. UPDATE: DO NOT CALL CATONS. After getting my HOA involved, they sent out their own plumber who fixed the issue in under 45 minutes. The clog was in the common drain line, which not a single one of the three (3!) plumbers from Catons ever identified. I also now have a huge unnecessary hole in the drywall cut by Dave. In addition, now that I've finally been able to try using my washer/dryer again, I found that it is damaged from Dave and Rich having pulled it out, and Dave didn't even use a dolly, just wrestled it in and out of there by himself. So now, the whole thing is out of balance, the frame around the washer lid comes loose as it runs, and the dryer is overheating and has a burning smell that did not exist before, so I can't even use it. I've been having to take everything to the laundromat. The attached pictures are from 4/23/26, the day Dave was here. I want my $954.58 back at the very least, and Catons should replace my washer/dryer.

Ryan came out and did an amazing job, diagnosing that we had a faulty part on the disposal that had been installed. He removed the faulty disposal and got us a brand new one from his truck that works perfectly. Not only that, he stayed until he was sure that everything was working exactly as it should, with no leaks this time. He was very professional, and also nice to our cats! He has more than earned this five star rating; I wish I could give him an even higher number! We would absolutely use him again for any job. Thank you Catons, and thank you Ryan!!!

Instead of proceeding with repairs that would have cost me a lot through Catons, he suggested I contact the original installer first to get it covered at no charge. In a world where many companies might have just gone ahead with the work to make a bigger sale, this level of integrity really stood out. He could have easily billed me for a full service call and repairs, but he chose to do right by the customer. I ended up not needing further work from them this time, but I will absolutely be calling Catons Plumbing for any future plumbing needs. Their honesty and customer-first approach earned my trust and loyalty. Highly recommend!
