Upon arrival, the technician assessed the situation and indicated that the repair would necessitate excavation beneath the air conditioning unit, which would entail a significant undertaking. He initially quoted me $4,000, but informed me that he possessed a coupon that reduced the cost to $3,500. I requested a detailed breakdown of the charges, but the technician informed me that he utilized a program on his iPad to generate the invoice, which he was unable to provide. Despite signing the contract and making a 50% down payment, I was informed that the actual work would be less extensive than anticipated. Upon completion of the repair, the technicians confirmed that the work did not require excavation beneath the air conditioning unit and was significantly simpler, involving only the replacement of a single PVC pipe. I informed the technicians that I would not be paying the remaining balance, as the work was less extensive than they had estimated. I subsequently contacted the Roto Rooter office in Tampa and spoke with Greg, the area supervisor. He advised me to contact my sprinkler company to ascertain their charges. I received an itemized bill from my sprinkler company for $600, which I promptly forwarded to Greg. He expressed his inability to match that price. I reiterated my position that I was willing to pay for the actual work performed, not the inflated charges. Greg assured me that he would contact me regarding the matter. However, I waited several days and attempted to reach him again, but he did not respond. Recently, I received a past-due bill for the remaining balance. I immediately contacted the office and spoke with an individual who indicated that they would contact Greg and provide me with an update. I waited five days and attempted to reach Greg again, but he did not respond. I subsequently spoke with another individual who assured me that someone would contact me. I received a call back from Sydney, the office manager, requesting my credit card for the outstanding balance. She informed me that this was the amount I owed for the work performed. I respectfully declined, stating that the work was significantly less extensive than the initial quote. I requested an itemized bill detailing the work completed in the course. She informed me that she would need to charge me initially or place a lien against me. Regrettably, I have not yet received the itemized bill. I strongly advise against engaging in business with this company. Instead, I recommend hiring local professionals.
