An awesome and honest tech named Zachary was assigned, he assessed my problem in a short period of time. He began troubleshooting the situation and explained in detail his findings. He then offered his honest technical opinion and we agreed on a reasonable resolution. My hybrid water heater is working fine now with no audible alarms or error code message displayed. The tech even provided a callback number if further assistance is required. I truly appreciated his efforts and attention to detail.

Called Roto-Rooter in the morning and was able to get same-day plumbing service for kitchen sink drain backing up. Plumber "Guy" was very conscientious, didn't waste time, had a good work ethic, initially checked all the drainage from the toilets, shower, and sinks, and told me, upfront, what the cost would be to unclog the kitchen drain that would backup when I ran the dishwasher. The plumber cleaned up afterwards, and I even got a same-day follow-up "Quality Control" visit by a Roto-Rooter inspector to make sure the plumbing job was done correctly and to my satisfaction. Very impressed!

Let me start by saying the technician, Zachary, was excellent—professional, respectful, and got the job done quickly. I called on Easter expecting to pay a premium, and $515 felt fair for a holiday service. What didn’t feel right was everything that came after. Within minutes of the technician arriving, two additional individuals showed up who identified themselves as supervisors or specialists, but it quickly became clear their role was sales. The technician even had to wait while they handled the camera inspection. After the drain was cleared, I was offered a hydro jetting service priced at over $4,000, “discounted” to $3,651 if I agreed soon. This was presented multiple times. Having since compared pricing—and given my background in residential construction—that number was far outside what’s typical for a standard main line cleaning, especially since nothing major was found. One of them also attempted to introduce unrelated services, like checking for moisture damage and suggesting resealing a bathtub, despite there being no active issue. At that point, it felt less like service and more like pressure. It’s disappointing because the technician did great work, but the overall experience felt like a coordinated upsell rather than a straightforward repair. I can’t help but think less experienced or elderly homeowners could easily be pushed into unnecessary, high-cost services. Get multiple opinions before agreeing to anything beyond the immediate fix. Because in the end, what smelled worse than the backed-up sewer wasn’t the drain—it was the sales pitch.
