All of the mitigation team employees that we met were friendly & respectful of my father's home & belongings. However, the work seemed to take an extensive amount of time - 8 days between removing the majority of the damaged floor & returning for the remaining 2sq feet. 3 full days between removing those last couple of floor patches & picking up their drying & dehumidifier equipment. The house was exposed down to the bare ground during 28° nights; we're hoping that the electric bill isn't going to be too significantly impacted. The repairs will hopefully start soon. It's been 2 months since the damage occurred. We're hoping that dad will be able to return to his home soon. Edited to add: It's now been nearly 2 MORE weeks & I had to track down the construction project mgr in order to start the process. He made zero attempt to contact us in the week between being assigned the job & me making calls to get on his schedule. And - true to their pattern - it's going to be ANOTHER week before he can come JUST to look at the job. I reminded him that ServPro now has THREE sets of photos, videos, measurements & electronic scabs on file for this job. He made it sound like replacing 20-30 square feet of subfloor was a terribly complicated thing. I asked if that wasn't what they did on a daily basis!!!! Still, it will be a week before he can come look at the job. Then another week for him to assign a crew an "make sure they have everything they need to do the job". WHY isn't this something so basic in their industry that they should be able to say "XYZ Crew, you're going to this address tomorrow for a floor replacement job. That's your new floor covering(s). Get your stuff & be there by 8am"?!?!?! AND!!!!!!! They've told him that they expect 1/2 payment before the work begins "or there could be significant delays". WHAT KIND OF A COMPANY THREATENS AN 86yr OLD MAN!!??!! 🤬 Haven't there been enough "delays" just with their lazy work ethic? This company cares NOTHING about its customers. Although the techs seem nice enough, the company as a whole is a nightmare to work with!!!! Update: When the construction crew did finally get started, they were at least 2hrs late every day. The 'project manager' was so un-involved that he didn't even know his 'crew' of one had called out sick until we had waited over 2hrs for him to show up & finally called to see if anyone was coming. After a whole week used to lay 3 sheets of subfloor, and then the crew being a no- show the following Monday, I FINALLY contacted management & blew my stack. Suddenly the project manager & a crew of 5 shows up on time the next day & is able to: move the furniture 2x, level the floor, pull up the old carpet, lay the vinyl & lay the new carpet in one day! Appliances re-installed, trim added & new vaniety in the bath installed the next day. There are several bubbles in the vinyl but we are willing to overlook them JUST to FINALLY get back in the home. Jan 22 to Apr 23 to re-floor a 3' wide section of the dining room, a tiny utility room & 1/2 of a small bath. Would not recommend this company. The work did eventually get done but the quality is pretty poor .
