After a hidden drain pipe leak caused water damage in our kitchen, our insurance company referred us to Duckstein Restoration, and we were very fortunate that they sent Regis and Eric, a father and son team. From the start, they took the time to listen carefully to what we wanted and offered helpful guidance along the way. Their work did more than restore our kitchen. It truly improved it. The quality and attention to detail really stood out. They were always prompt, professional, and very respectful of our home. They kept the work area clean and did everything they could to minimize disruption to our daily routine. They were also incredibly kind and patient with our three dogs, which meant a lot to us. We feel lucky that Regis and Eric were the team assigned to us. They turned a stressful situation into a positive experience, and we would absolutely recommend them and Duckstein Restoration to anyone who needs this type of work.

We hired Duckstein Contracting in April 2024 after a water leak damaged our kitchen. The demolition crew did an excellent job and worked efficiently. Unfortunately, the experience drastically declined once the rebuild began. The rebuild started at the end of June, and issues quickly piled up. Our hardwood floors had to be reinstalled three separate times due to poor workmanship. The entryway and bathroom tile also had to be removed and redone three times because of improper installation. A section of drywall took nearly two months to finish, and the crew never taped off rooms—dust and debris spread through the house, including the entire second floor, covering everything. We dealt with multiple plumbing mistakes as well. The dishwasher was not hooked up correctly, causing soapy water to leak onto our brand-new flooring, and the refrigerator water line was never connected. They eventually had to rip open drywall again to re-plumb what should have been done correctly the first time. On top of that, our front door—less than a year old—was damaged when a worker used construction materials to open it, requiring insurance involvement. After months of two workers in our home with ongoing issues and repeated fixes, we finally had to stop the project because it was getting out of hand. The only positive experience we had was with the father-son team who installed our kitchen cabinetry—they did quality work and were professional. Aside from them, I would advise others to be extremely cautious before hiring this company. Our experience was overwhelmingly stressful and disappointing. The photos were how they were planning on leaving our house. They did end up completing the project.

After a neighbor's building burned down, we had a major restoration to accomplish on our place. Smoke and water damage throughout. The roof and one exterior wall had to be completely reconstructed. Most of the second floor interior had to be gutted, including kitchen and bathroom. Start to finish was 11 months. I just signed the completion doc this morning. Duckstein did an excellent job. Their workers are professional and courteous. They used good quality materials and the work was done to a high standard. They are knowledgeable about building codes and what things in our place needed to be upgraded to meet current code. They were very accommodating when it came to selecting products. I can't count the times Pete said, "whatever you want". They worked well with our insurance agent (Nationwide) and our borough code officer. We would highly recommend Duckstein.
