Inspection took longer than I expected, the tech actually crawled into the basement corner I was worried about and explained what he was seeing as he went. Got the quote the next morning, same number we talked through. Remediation itself was quiet, plastic sheeting everywhere,and the spot looks like new drywall now.
started with a stain on the ceiling in our spare bedroom that I figured was just old water damage. landlord situation made me want to get it checked before we renewed the lease so I started calling around. Clear Horizon was the third place I talked to and the only one that didnt try to sell me an inspection over the phone before even seeing it. the guy who came out actually went up in the attic and found mold spreading along one of the rafters from a roof leak we didnt know about. he laid out what needed to happen and what we could skip. scheduling took about a week which was fine. the removal itself was quicker than I thought, maybe a day and a half. they bagged everything up and hauled it out, did air testing after to make sure the spores were gone. follow up call a few days later to check in which I didnt expect
so we had mold in the basement that had been growing behind some old shelving units for who knows how long. pretty gross situation once we actually pulled everything away from the wall. Clear Horizon came out and did a full removal of the affected areas which covered a decent portion of two walls and part of the ceiling down there. they stripped out the contaminated drywall and treated everything underneath before closing it back up. the air quality difference after was noticeable almost immediately, like the musty smell that had been lingering for months was just gone. i was mostly worried about it coming back but they explained what they did to prevent regrowth and it made sense. the basement actually feels usable again now which is kind of the whole point. took them about a day and a half to finish everything up. we had gotten a quote from another company before going with them and Clear Horizon was more reasonable for what they were offering
