Jakobsen Restoration was assigned by our insurance company to handle water mitigation, demolition, and restoration after a flood in our home (September 2025-January 2026). Our experience varied significantly between teams. Restoration / Build Out Team - Excellent Our project manager, Larry Ingramm, was outstanding. He submitted a thorough and accurate scope to our insurance, brought in qualified outside vendors when specialized work was needed, and approached every issue with creativity and persistence. His communication was timely, his team's work was high quality, and their professionalism was consistent throughout. We highly recommend Larry and his crew -- he earns 5 stars from us. Mitigation & Demolition Team - Significant Issues This team, led by Mike Ortiz, responded quickly and worked hard to address the initial water damage. However, they overloaded a circuit by running eight drying units on the same line, causing three outages -- the last resulting in a major power failure in half our home that required an electrician to repair. If Jakobsen Restoration is assigned to your home, we strongly suggest requesting that they use a generator for high demand equipment. The team also handled packing and storage. Boxes were sealed with painter's tape rather than usual packing tape. Minimal packing materials were used, which lead to damage and breakage. Their inventory system consisted only of photos, because as we have now been told, the company was in between two different providers of the industry standardized method for inventorying, and were using this as their temporary method. The interior of our home was ready to reoccupy a month before the garage was finished. We ended up unpacking 35 boxes of items for closets, dressers, and five file cabinets ourselves. No crew was provided to assist, despite this being part of the work billed to insurance. Their crew came at the very end to unpack the 25 boxes in the garage as best as they could being limited to the picture inventory method used. On two occasions, Mike Ortiz raised his voice at us. His demeanor was not that we would expect from a Project Manager. Based on our experience, Mike earns 1 star. We do want to acknowledge Jacob, a crew lead who was consistently helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. He earns 5 stars from us. Subsequent to writing our initial review, at our request, we met with overall Project Manager, Mike Werner. We found him to be very personable, open to hear our observations and suggestions, and genuinely surprised by some of the atypical things we experienced. We hope he is able to use the information to better the performance of their team members to whom it will be helpful. We feel he listened and cared about what went wrong on our job. Based on this single interaction with Mike Werner, he is among the 5-star rated staff at Jakobsen Restoration in our opinion.

I had a great experience with Jakobsen Restoration as my house flooded due to drainage issues at my house. Communication with Alejandro was excellent from the start to finish. He consistently kept me informed and clearly explained any changes along the way. Alejandro and his team were always nice and respectful, a pleasure to work with. The final result exceeded my expectations and my house looks beautiful. I'm extremely happy with the work and 100% recommend them to anyone needing similar repairs.

My neighbor’s home experienced a flood, which unfortunately affected my home as well since we share a wall. The restoration company was recommended by my homeowner’s insurance, and I’m very grateful for that recommendation. They responded quickly to begin water mitigation and assisted with replacing my floors. They also carefully stored my furniture during the process and returned everything afterward, setting it back up just as it had been before. When the work was completed, it was truly as if nothing had ever happened. I am truly impressed with Jacob, Oded, Thomas and project manager, Alejandro. Great customer service!
