Our home suffered significant damage from a water leak in the attic, which ruined walls, hardwood floors, and kitchen cabinets. North Alabama Restoration (NAR) was hired to complete a full renovation, which grew to include a highly desired structural change. Our experience with Project Manager Gary Wise, was phenomenal. Gary was professional, empathetic, and highly knowledgeable. He walked us through every step of the complexities of all task, to include, but not limited to, the removal of the kitchen wall with clarity. His communication was exceptional, with daily updates and constant availability. Gary’s coordination was outstanding. Managing one of the best teams I’ve had the pleasure of working with (Hector, Anahi, Mario, Moises, Willian, Fernando), and seamlessly integrating the demo, framing, drywall, flooring, painting, cabinetry, and electrical teams was no small feat. He kept the project on track and minimized disruption to our daily life. The wall removal was the most impressive part. The process was handled expertly, from proper beam installation to seamlessly integrating the new open space. The transition between the old and new areas is flawless, with perfect ceiling lines and flooring alignment. The damaged sections were perfectly matched. The new flooring flows beautifully throughout our home without a hint of inconsistency. The painting was a meticulous work that created a cohesive look throughout the combined living area. The new kitchen is now the centerpiece of our open living area. The design and installation are superb, making it both highly functional and socially connected to the living room. We would also like to thank Brandon, who walked us through every step of the insurance process with expert knowledge and clarity. What started as a damaging leak became an opportunity to completely transform our home. Removing the wall was a game-changer, and it was executed perfectly. Gary and NAR exceeded every expectation. Their ability to manage a complex, multi-phase project with such professionalism and skill is remarkable. We now have a beautiful, modern, open living space that we absolutely love. We cannot recommend them highly enough. For anyone needing restoration or considering a major remodel or renovation I would highly recommend North Alabama Restoration (NAR) and Project Manager Gary Wise as the definitive choice. The day a major roof leak occurred our insurance company contacted North Alabama Restorations for mitigation. Jimmy, in charge of mitigation, was there in less than 2 hours after we contacted our insurance company and took extensive steps to mitigate the water damage and prevent further damage. He stayed in touch with us to make sure we weren't having other problems and got our area rug cleaned. He even remained in contact during the time we waited for our insurance to process the claim and have an insurance appraiser come to the house. Dre, the estimator, was phenomenal in his help coordinating with our insurance company and the appraiser. He not only did the work necessary to get information to our insurance company but worked with us explaining the process and how to proceed to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. When we asked about having some additional things done separate from the insurance claim, he also worked with that so that things that we have wanted done before the leak were done in conjunction with the repairs. We truly appreciate all his efforts. The team that replaced the roof was wonderful to work with. They did a great job with the roof and cleanup after. Jason, the project manager for the interior work, was great at making sure everything was completed in a timely and professional manner. He checked the progress daily and was very diligent in ensuring that everything was done efficiently and exceptionally well. When a couple of pieces of furniture were dinged during the transit to/from storage, he made sure that the damage was fixed to be as good as new as possible. He is responsible for helping make this as easy as it could be in our dificult situation. The teams working in the house were professional, polite and did a wonderful job restoring our home. We are very grateful for the efforts and results of NAR and highly recommend them.

Our problems with this company = pricing transparency and overcharging. I’m writing this review so that other potential customers can be informed. These are simply my family’s experiences, and I am not claiming these experiences will inevitably be had by all if they hire this company. In early/mid-March, we experienced some flooding in one corner (approx. 100 sq ft) of our basement which measures 328.28 sq ft – the result of a heavy rain fall in Huntsville. We scheduled an appointment with NAR. They were prompt with testing for moisture in the walls and floor and with setting up a dehumidifier and air movers (at this initial appointment, we were unaware of how many air movers would be sufficient for approx.100 sq ft of affected area). At this initial appointment, they provided us with a folder of copies of their licensing, BBB accreditation, etc. However, absent was pricing information (hourly rates) for the equipment they had just placed in the basement. Customers expect businesses to communicate any foreseeable prices UP FRONT - prior to service (or at the time equipment is placed in a home). This was not provided. At the 2-day mark of equipment usage, we felt discomfort with the lack of pricing transparency, so WE disconnected the equipment, coiled power cables, and placed it the garage for pickup. We requested (via email and phone call) that they retrieve their belongings, and we would not be proceeding with their services. We disconnected the equipment ourselves because we suspected that NAR had placed what was essentially a blank check in our home: (1) equipment in our home for an uncommunicated amount of time, (2) charging of uncommunicated daily rates, and (3) placement of excessive pieces of equipment (i.e. excessive number of air movers - discussed below). We were blind to the running charges occurring in the basement. It took nearly a day and a half after we disconnected the equipment on day 2 for them to retrieve it. On April 7, 2026, nearly a month after equipment retrieval, NAR contacted us via phone to inform that we owed $1,079.28. I said, no, we expect a formal, itemized bill prior to any payment so we can see individual services claimed to have been provided and the amounts charged per service. They sent the formal, itemized bill via email. CHARGES INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING: $168.21 = Initial house call + $60.30 = Equipment setup initial house call + $60.30 = “Monitoring” visit + $554.45 = 6 air movers for 3.33 days (6 air movers X $27.75 X 3.33 days). This is an overcharge in two ways: (a) Equipment usage ended at day 2 (b) With research, we discovered that guidelines state: “For a 328-square-foot basement with flooding isolated to one corner, 1 to 2 air movers are generally sufficient, provided they are placed strategically to create airflow across the wet area. Industry guidelines suggest using one air mover for every 50–70 square feet of heavily saturated floor.” A closet was included in this area so, at most, 3 air movers would have been sufficient for approx. 100 sq ft + $175.72 = Use of 1 dehumidifier for 3.33 days (1 dehumidifier X $52.77 X 3.33 days). This is an overcharge since equipment usage ended on day 2. We could have bought our own high-grade dehumidifier at this point. + $60.30 = equipment retrieval. If we had not requested an itemized bill, we would have never known that they were overcharging us in multiple ways. After our voicing of frustration, they finally removed the overcharges for the extra day and a half of equipment usage. Over the past month, they have been pressuring us with repeated phone calls to sign a document that says we were satisfied with NAR services. Do they want customers to sign so that any negative feedback is illegitimized? I will never hire this company again, and I will never recommend this company to others.
